The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFR) was begun in 1987 by eight Capuchin friars desiring to work more definitively for personal and communal reform within the Catholic Church...
 “The friars freely assume consecrated religious life in the Church in order to serve as a sign of the heavenly glory that is a participation in the life of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” (CFR Constitutions, 4)
