BRADFORD

St. Pio Friary, Bradford was founded in 2005. At the invitation of Bishop Roche of Leeds, the friars moved to the inner city of Bradford to serve the homeless and destitute of the city and to work for the renewal of the Catholic faith throughout the diocese. The friars have run a soup kitchen called Open Doors.  It was opened in the early days of 2006 shortly after the friars arrived in the city.". Now the soup kitchen feeds up to 200 people per week relying solely on donations for its provision. Parish missions, school visits, youth events, bible studies, prayer meetings, and street walks have formed the work of evangelisation of the friars over the years.

In cooperation with St. Joseph’s Parish and the Diocese of Leeds, the Friars are responsible for the outreach and pastoral care to St. Patrick’s Mission, Bradford.
