DISCERNING IN EUROPE
Home > CFR Vocations > Discerning in Europe
The discernment process for men interested in our way of life involves a process of becoming familiar with our way of life, visiting a friary in Europe, and speaking with the vocation director or with one of the friars on the vocation team.
This is no different for those inquiring from Europe. The process of discernment can happen over time, sometimes involving several conversations, one or two visits of varying lengths, or a longer time of service and formation in one of our apostolates with the poor. A vocation is the Lord’s work; therefore, the discernment process is not meant to be a burden but a grace and a light.
“In a brotherly way, vocation directors help them discern what the Lord is asking and what special grace the Lord offers them in his Church.” (CFR Directory, 85.2)
Those interested in our way of life must be able to speak English and be between the ages of 18 and 35.
Due to visa restrictions, we are unable to take inquiries from those who live in Africa or in Asia.
