“The primary mission of the Institute is a wholehearted embracing of Jesus Christ, following the example of Our Holy Father, Saint Francis.” (CFR Constitutions, 60)

 

The Friars’ apostolic mission comes from their life of prayer and contemplation. Without prayer and the sacraments they would not have the strength necessary to carry-out their apostolic works.

 

It is also true that their apostolic mission comes from their fraternal life. With prayer and fraternity they are able to serve the poor and preach the Gospel to others.

 

“The Institute’s apostolic mission is twofold in its expression:service of the materially poor and non-parochial evangelisation.” (CFR Constitutions, 62)
