CFR VOCATIONS
When discerning a call to religious life it is essential that you get to experience a particular community’s way of life (charism). The best way to do this is always to visit the community. But there are other ways as well and these can be helpful to see if a visit would be a good next step. Here are a few resources that might help you to get a sense of our way of life.
Documentaries
-
Bronx to Bradford: this was one made by the BBC about the friars in Bradford,
-
UK - Click to watch here
-
Outcasts: a gritty look into the friars work around the world. You have to pay for this one. - Watch here
-
Main website: www.franciscanfriars.com
-
Our constitutions. This is our official rule of life, going into all the nitty gritty of how we live, see here
-
Our media: we’ve got lots of great content on Instagram and Youtube. You can find links to that here (https://www.franciscanfriars.com/media)
And if after all that you want to come visit then you can just contact me (Fr Columba), the vocations guy for the CFRs in Europe and organise either to just do a regular visit, come volunteer, pray and meet us, or you can do an actual Come and See visit . We have four of these a year.
Either way contact me at cfrvocationseu@franciscanfriars.com or +44 12 7472 1989 (after Aug 30th +353 61 458 071).
God bless you and I hope to hear from you soon.
Fr Columba Jordan, vocations director for Europe.
